EPIC continues to be enthusiastically adopted across the ecosystem of energy efficiency project professionals for its ability to help drive sales of higher ticket, higher margin equipment.
New Feature
Based on EPIC user requests, we are pleased to announce the launch of the EPIC Performance Comparison with Peer Buildings feature.
This new feature enables EPIC users, in real time, to compare their building’s pre- and post-improvements weather normalized energy use intensity (EUI) to their peer group’s median EUI.
These EPIC-enabled performance comparison analytics are fueled by multiple database sources to benchmark the subject building’s EUI to peer buildings in the same geographical area, climate zone, or nationally:
- Commercial buildings: The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Building Performance Database (BPD) is used to benchmark the subject building’s EUI to peer buildings with the same commercial use type, e.g., office, retail, hotel, etc.
- Multifamily buildings: In addition to the BPD, the U.S. DOE’s Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS) is used to benchmark the subject building’s EUI to peer multifamily buildings.
The EPIC Report PDF now includes a new section: Performance Comparison with Peer Buildings with the following analytics displayed:
Moreover, an EPIC user can enable/disable the display of these new analytics via: EPIC app Avatar > User Preferences > Miscellaneous > Display Performance Comparison with Peer Buildings
