What’s New with EPIC: EPIC-IQ Feature

Background

As a pioneer in cloud-based building energy performance assessment technology, SRS has earned a reputation for developing cutting edge software, data, and predictive analytics solutions. Our latest innovation is the Energy Performance Improvement Calculator (EPIC™).

EPIC continues to be enthusiastically adopted across the ecosystem of energy efficiency project professionals for its ability to help drive sales of higher ticket, higher margin equipment.

New Features

Based on EPIC user requests, we are pleased to announce the launch of EPIC-IQ.

This new feature enables EPIC users, in real time, to update the estimated installed cost of energy improvements based on user edits to select equipment characteristics. The following example is for air conditioning systems (RTU, Split System, PTAC).

Based on EPIC user building information inputs, e.g., property type, size, and year constructed, EPIC estimates the air conditioning system’s total capacity (83.2 tons in the example below) to meet the building’s cooling need and its net installed cost ($143,626 in the example below).

When EPIC users edit the Total Capacity (revised to 80.0 tons in the example below) and click “Submit”, the EPIC-IQ feature will now update the Net Installed Cost value ($138,065 in the example below) displayed in italics with grey background, based on SRS’s Air Conditioning project database’s average cost per unit.

Note: For multifamily apartment buildings, EPIC-IQ will update the Net Installed Cost value when EPIC users edit the Number of Units.
